Waterful Knowledge was inspired by the age of information and the changing role of books in our society. The library featured in this Waterful was inspired by the Upper Lusatia Library of Sciences, located in Borockhaus, Germany one of the most significant libraries in the world and the famous Knowledge mural by American painter Robert Lewis Reid made in 1896, where a young woman is depicted holding a book. Books have always been a natural symbol of knowledge. However, in today’s world, technology enables diverse paths to knowledge. The increasing use of screens and the Internet leads to the questions, what will the new symbol of knowledge become?
