Life Tools

As we become adults, we are expected to rely on our “life tools” to help us make decisions, handle difficult situations and succeed. However, we can often end up operating habitually - losing our sense of self.  When we are children, our identities and personalities are often exposed naturally, without any sense of self-consciousness or emotional inhibitions. Life Tools is a playful exploration into the “tools” that are actually important in life - our capacity to be playful, open and not take ourselves too seriously. The work is composed of toys and drawings of toys that were popular in the 80’s and displayed on an aluminium tool organizer.

Dimensions: 80 cm X 134 cm X 15 cm

Medium: Metal Paint drawings and collected Toys on Aluminium
